GNP Realty Partners and the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) collaborated to add Chicago to the list of global cities hosting the sculpture “Wings of Mexico” to pay tribute to Chicago as a diverse and welcoming city. The artwork is by internationally renowned Mexican artist Jorge Marín. In partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago and Visit Mexico, the bronze sculpture was unveiled on May 5 (Cinco de Mayo) in the Plaza of the Americas as part of Mexico Week Chicago 2022.

“Wings of Mexico” is a pair of large angel wings designed to interact with its viewers. The wings are positioned so people can stand for a photo or selfie and image themselves as an angel with wings—a popular Instagram post. The traveling sculpture draws from each geographic location to give it personal meaning.
“Chicago is a place that celebrates human potential,” said John Gagliardo, executive vice president, development & construction for GNP. “No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, this is a place where hopes and dreams take flight. We are very proud to have worked with the National Association of Realtors® to bring “Wings of Mexico” to the Magnificent Mile.”
NAR maintains the Plaza of the Americas, adjacent to its headquarters building at 430 N. Michigan Ave. GNP Realty serves as the property manager for the Realtor® Building, which also serves as home to GNP’s family of companies. The installation will remain in Chicago through October 1, 2022. A permanent installation of “Wings of Mexico” can be found in 12 cities around the globe, including San Antonio and Denver.
